We Use Traditional Mortise-and-Tenon Joinery

Some suppliers rely on screws and brackets, which eventually loosen or crack the timber. Instead, we use deep mortise-and-tenon joints, the same method found in timber buildings that have survived for centuries.
This approach allows the oak to expand and shrink naturally without weakening. Therefore, your staircase stays rigid and stable without relying on metal fixings that corrode or fail.

Meanwhile, concrete pads—although cheaper—often lead to messy mud build-up around exposed posts. They also offer no usable storage area. For this reason, the slab is the smarter long-term solution.

Oak contains tannins that resist insects, rot, and fungal decay. Because of this, it performs exceptionally well outdoors without needing heavy chemical treatments. Furthermore, when posts are mounted on metal feet above ground, moisture cannot enter the base, ensuring even longer life.
